Effet de la salinité sur le fonctionnement hydrique et la productivité de deux variétés de fève de tolérance variable à la sécheresse
Abstract
In the non-saline soil, both varteties showed the same water behaviour and identical water consumption. Only the biomass yield of ILB1814 variety was 23% higher, thus reflecting the growth vigour of this variety during the cropping cycle. The difference was, however, small in terms of grain yields (8%). As a result, water use efficiency values were very close to each other: 0.92 and 0.87 Kg/m3 respectively for ILBJ814 and Giza Blanca. The variety ILB1814 seems to be more salt tolerant than variety Giza Bianca. Resistance to drought does not necessarily correspond to salt-resistance. The dry matter accumulation ability of the ILB1814 variety has been deeply discussed in this study. We recommend carrying on future studies aimed at verifying the assumptions suggested for.
